Imagine Festival of Ideas & Politics Brochure
For the Peripatetic Sculptors Society the action-research of interventionist drifting through the varied ambiences of urban territories, is in part, a philosophical enquiry into the very nature of our being in the city. As a phenomenological approach to action-research, individuals learn through their own experiences and perceptions about the urban environment under investigation. The research activity (or game) must first set out to de-condition the participant into a ‘non-thinking’ state. The necessary ‘letting go’ that opens up perception, frees intuition and focuses the body on its relationship to the physical world is the necessary state for encounter with new systems of knowledge.
